Wrestling season preview
Northwest wrestling team opens season with challenging match at South
December 3, 2015
Undefeated in the city league for four years, the Northwest wrestling team will challenge South tonight at 7 p.m.
“We have about a 50/50 chance of winning at South because they’re pretty good,” coach Eric Prichard said. “But I believe we’re better.”
Prichard says to watch for seniors and state medalists Noah Ornelas, Jared Ross, Justin Onwugbufor and sophomore Devin Onwugbufor. These wrestlers played a vital role in continuing their winning streak last year. Prichard hopes they will do the same this season.
“The goals are the same,” Prichard said. “It’s just a different year.”
