Tuskegee Airman to speak during excel

On Wednesday February 16 during your excel class an original Tuskegee Airman will be coming to speak in the auditorium. However, with the coming of a former Tuskegee airman, George Mills Boyd, many are wondering who he is and whether or not they should go.

History teacher Michael Alldaffer invited Boyd to speak, and believes students will benefit from attending.

“It’s living history; you actually get to speak to someone who was there,” Alldaffer said.

The Tuskegee airmen are known for being the very first squadron of African American airmen in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Boyd is a retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force and has served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict. City Council Representative, Janet Miller, recommended him to Alldaffer.

Alldaffer is known for bringing guest speakers. “I always try to find speakers to come to the school who will benefit students,” he said.
