Ejay Edwards isn’t your typical student. During the week he is focused on school and going to practice like every other student. On the weekends he’s out cracking 16 min 5ks and setting new records left and right. Ejay has been running since he was a freshman. His first two years of running he was at maize south.

 He transferred to Northwest his junior year and immediately joined the cross country team. No one expected the speed he would show them his first meet. The gun was shot, the miles were run, and the time was at 17:11. The next meet Ejay ran His time was 16:40. The school record is 16:23. The team was static, no one could shut up about how fast Ejay had been running, but it wasn’t always this way.

 Ejay’s sophomore year he was diagnosed with asthma.”It was really hard to adjust to it, they diagnosed me mid-season”. He says now he finally thinks he has figured out his asthma and is back on track to run even faster and break the record.
